The Five Pillars Of Self-Care Guru
Sovereignty
Ready to be a free thinker? You get to choose what Guru information resonates with you and what doesn’t.
As grown individuals, we do not need someone to tell us how to live. I am not here to parent anyone. I am here to support you as you become more aware, find the information that works for you, and refocus on getting yourself back to balance.
Loneliness, codependency, playing the victim, helplessness, and other experiences are common in life, and they can also hold us back.
As queer men, there is a great need for us to grow and mature into our knowledge of being whole and complete on our own. Self-care allows us to see we can regulate ourselves and meet many of our own needs.
Empowerment
Do you continually feel like the grind of life makes you feel spread thin, lacking power to influence what happens to you, and/or like you’re worried you’re not good enough? Self-care is also doing the tough, work mentally and emotionally, to heal those parts of you and gain tools to take back your empowerment.
Many of us are held back by beliefs we were told were truth about our bodies, our capabilities, and our limitations of reaching our goals. I have amassed a support system of professionals and resources to share with you for creating a foundation of confidence, breaking through psychological barriers, and taking ourselves from burnout back to play.
Play is the state we are in when we feel energized, centered, calm, and excited about what we’re involved in professionally or personally. That’s when we feel aligned without ourselves and unstoppable!
Mindfulness
Is stress keeping you from being present in daily life and enjoying what’s happening now? Too often we think being busy gives us purpose and relevance, when being at peace means connecting to our authentic self and finding joy in the process of doing what matters to us.
I share ways that are not gimmicks or promises, but rather tried and tested ways of gaining more calm in daily life, letting go of chaos, and being present in our lives.
Some key components to accomplishing that are creating acceptance by stepping away from perfectionism and becoming aware of and reducing thinking in absolutes.
Life is messy, let’s be kinder to ourselves, gain clarity through checking our perspective, and habituating calm balance.
Physical Wellness
Does your body need and deserve more attention to feel healthier with less pain? Self-care is crucial in balancing out the impact we put on it.
I provide wisdom and suggestions on regulating the nervous system to come out of survival mode, muscle soreness, headaches, physical imbalances, other stress-related pain, kindness about what we put in our body and why, therapies that don’t, therapies and habits that have the most profound impact, and more ways to introduce playfulness to live more authentically and meaningfully thrive.
After working in massage therapy since 2007, I’ve seen the wide range of effects stress and pain have on the body. There is a great deal that can be done to reduce the intensity and frequency of both pain and stress in order to get back to or continue doing the things you love.
Playfulness is necessary for well being because it balances the mind-body connection. As it calms the mind to a state of rest and creativity, it engages the body to move freely without self-criticism. Play can look different for different people and that’s okay. Let’s find what is authentic to you.
Support Network & Resources
Do you need more self-care resources to live in a state of thriving? I’ll connect you with professionals, organizations, and online resources from pinpointed basic needs to books that can shift your thinking.
In order to live in thriving, creating and maintaining a reliable support group is fundamental. You can use my resources and methods to strengthen your support system whether you live locally or not. You are not alone and, even if it’s not easy, you can find the things you need.
We all know someone we care about who’d benefit from resources for greater independence, improved health, being present more, and increasing self-empowerment. Feel free to share my Guru mentoring and resources with them.

You have the innate power to thrive. I’m here to support you discovering that for yourself!
